      Russia: Medvedev proposes replacing dollar with rubles and dongs for Vietnam trade

      Russia doesn't see any obstacles for settling the trade between Russia and Vietnam in rubles and dongs, Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev said in Moscow on Sunday. However, Medvedev continued, both countries need the economic reason for doing so.

      Speaking to Vietnamese journalists ahead of his visit to Vietnam on April 5-7, Medvedev clarified that trading in national currencies is only suitable if the trade volume between the two countries is high enough.

      During his three-day trip to Vietnam the Russian prime minister is scheduled to visit Hanoi, as well as the country's largest city Ho Chi Minh City.
