48 people were killed when the Trade Union House in Odessa was set on fire on May 2 by Ukrainian nationalist groups, eight of whom died after leaping from the building's windows to escape the spreading fire. Almost 250 other people were injured in clashes between pro-Kiev, Ukrainian nationalist and anti-Kiev groups.
