Syria: Assad says the West wants war in Syria and Ukraine
The West wants war and not a political solution in both Syria and Ukraine, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said in Damascus, Thursday.
Focusing on the influence of countries including the United States, France, and Britain, Assad slammed the Western nations for their approach to "political solutions" to crises. He offered Ukraine as an example of the West destabilising states and replacing leaders with Western-friendly governments.
Assad went on to say the world has become used to American officials making conflicting statements from one day to the next, adding it is an expression of conflicts within the American administration and lobby groups working in the United States.
