UK: Germanwings remove 'tasteless' adverts from London Underground
Germanwings continued to remove promotional signs reading ‘get ready to be surprised, from London Underground stations, Friday. The move comes after the Airbus A320 tragedy earlier in the week, when 150 people aboard Germanwings flight 4U9525 lost their lives after co-pilot Andreas Lubitz is reported to have purposely crashed the plane in the French Alps on Tuesday.
The advert, which offers flights between Britain and Germany for prices as low as £29 (€40), was deemed 'tasteless' by the German airline in light of Tuesday’s crash. Seven of the adverts have reportedly been removed, but over ten remain visible at London Underground stations.
Germanwings also had 65 digital adverts in the underground network, which were removed on the same day as the crash.
