France: Families of Germanwings crash victims pay tribute to their dead relatives
Family members of the Germanwings crash victims arrived to pay tribute to their dead relatives, at a new memorial in the village of Le Vernet Friday. The memorial stone was placed in sight of the mountain where Germanwings flight 4U 9252 crashed.
The Airbus A320 flew into a mountainside while en route from Barcelona to Dusseldorf with 144 passengers and six crew members on board, on Tuesday March 24.
After evaluating the plane's black box flight recorder, investigators concluded that the co-pilot Andreas Lubitz locked the plane's captain out of the cockpit before then starting the fatal eight-minute descent.
