      France: UN Anti-Racism Day protest hits Paris

      Around a thousand people hit the streets in a march from Barbes to Bastille, Saturday, to march against racism and police brutality. The march also condemned Islamophobia and called for the withdrawal of 'draconian' and 'racist' laws against Muslims, as well as the dismantling of anti-Roma camps and the closure of immigration detention centres.

      French police secured the march along the route to Bastille, with no major incidents reported.
