USA: You too can be Luke Skywalker with Oculus VR technology
Some of the most advanced and exciting technology in video gaming were on display at the Gaming EXPO at SXSW (South-by-South-West) festival, in Austin, Texas on Friday. Keen gamers gave their best Luke Skywalker impressions trying out the new Oculus virtual reality headset, which creates a computer-generated version of the users own hands.
Another VR headset of display was FOVE; which is the world's first eye tracking head mount display, allowing users to fully realise a virtual reality by moving their eyes. FOVE has in the past allowed physically disabled people to virtually play musical instruments just with the movement of their eyes. Other exhibitions included Dell's gaming subsidiary 'Alienware' and Japanese car-manufacturer Mazda.
The exhibition is open until March 15 at the Palmers Centre. Thousands of people are expected to attend, getting the chance to play games and use technologies months before their public release.
