The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) conducted training exercises in the Alabyano-Baltic tunnel in Moscow on Thursday night.
EMERCOM recreated a major traffic incident involving a crash between four cars and a bus for the training exercise. One of the vehicles was on fire, forcing the emergency response team to operate in thick smoke and several people simulated injuries to create a realistic crash scenario.
The Alabyano-Baltic tunnel was chosen for the training exercises due to its relative inaccesibility and also because due to it becoming a hotspot for road accidents.
