
Russia: Cypriot President pays tribute at Tomb of Unknown Soldier
President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades arrived in Moscow for a two-day trip at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Wednesday. The Cypriot leader paid his respect to soldiers who fell during World War II by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, shortly after his arrival in the Russian capital.
Anastasiades and Putin are due to discuss bilateral cooperation, particularly regarding the state of EU-Russia relations and coordinating work with each other at the level of the UN and OSCE. Several investment, social and the military-technical collaboration agreements are due to be signed.
During the visit President Anastasiades will also meet with Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev to discuss potential finance and energy-market cooperation.
