Should the Ukrainian city of Mariupol be attacked, the contractual basis for the Minsk agreement "would completely change," German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said after meeting his French, Russian and Ukrainian counterparts in Paris, Tuesday.

The German minister also said that the situation in Ukraine was still very fragile, after the Minsk agreement was signed on February 12. The violence has decreased, "but there are many violations of the ceasefire," he said.
