
Germany: Unions go on strike in Bavaria for better conditions
More than 1,000 union workers have gathered in Amberg, Monday, to strike and demand better working working conditions. The strikers from the IG Metal workers union, including many from Siemens, gathered at the Amberger Congress Centrum building to call for a 5.5 percent wage increase, better pension remuneration and regulation of better training opportunities.
Strikes and protests also took place in other Bavarian cities such a Schweinfurt, where 5,000 people, including workers from Bosch, took part in rallies, as well as Erlangen and Bamberg.
