Over 1,000 people packed out Trafalgar Square on Sunday, to rally in solidarity with the anti-austerity, Syriza-led Greek government as they attempt to renegotiate a new debt deal for their nation with their EU creditors.

'Angela Merkel we are coming for you' was the message from speaker Owen jones, as hundreds waved Greece flags and banners showing solidarity with the anti-austerity government not far from the British parliament buildings.

The Greek Solidarity Campaign, Syriza London and other organisations called for a mass rally in front of the National Gallery in Trafalgar square from 13:00 GMT as part of a wave of solidarity protests taking place throughout Europe to back the Tsipras-led government's anti-austerity position.
