USA: Mass prayer to show 'Muslim Lives Matter' after Chapel Hill shooting
Around a hundred Muslims held a mass Salat al-Jumu'ah (Friday Prayer) in front of the White House in Washington, Friday.
The prayer was organised to honour the death of three Muslim American students, Deah Barakat, Yusor Abu-Salha and Razan Abu-Salha, who were killed in their home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on Tuesday evening.
Mahroh Jahangiri, one of the organisers of the event, said that whatever the outcome is of the situation, "Muslims feel unsafe and vulnerable" in the USA. Together with the other participants she asked a safer space for Muslims to perform their faith.
