
Iran: Hundreds of thousands mark Islamic Revolution in Tehran
Hundreds of thousands of Iranians took to the streets of Tehran on Wednesday to celebrate the 36th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution which ended the monarchical rule of the House of Pahlavi. Other cities and towns are also holding celebratory rallies.
Attendees could be seen waving Iranian flags and flags bearing the face of Ruhollah Khomeini, Iran's first Supreme Leader. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is due to give a speech at the rally in Tehran.
