UK: Adorable baby BADGER rescued by a pet dog
A tiny baby badger was nursed back to health in the Secret World Wildlife Rescue centre in Somerset, England, Tuesday, after it was brought home by a Jack Russell.
The tiny cub who weighs only 80 grams (0.18lbs), was found cold and wet on a local woman's kitchen floor after it had been brought inside by her Jack Russell dog. At first she thought that the cub was dead until the heat of her hands warmed the cub up enough so that it displayed some signs of life. The local contacted the Mid Derbyshire badger group for help, and the cub was brought to the experienced ‘Secret World Wildlife Rescue’ group who nursed it back to health.
‘Little Star’ is said to be enjoying her feeds and is already gaining weight. Badger cubs are normally born in January and spend the next three months hibernating underground.
