Germany: 'U.S. will continue military support for Ukraine,' confirms Vice President Joe Biden
The U.S. government will continue to provide so-called 'security assistance' to Kiev authorities in the hope the country can 'defend' itself against Russia, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden said while speaking at the 51st Munich Security Conference, Saturday.
Asserting that Russian President Vladimir Putin was funding anti-Kiev militias in eastern Ukraine, Biden expressed disbelief that there is a 'military solution' to the Ukrainian crisis but emphasised that Russia has no 'right to do what they are doing." Many U.S. politicians are pushing to heavily arm Kiev forces as they stage a mass military mobilisation in eastern Ukraine.
Over 400 politicians and experts are taking part in the 2015 Munich Security Conference, including over 20 world leaders. Along with the Ukrainian crisis, other issues expected to be discussed include the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS), the global economy, mass-migration including the rising death toll in the Mediterranean Sea, and the Ebola outbreak in parts of West Africa.
