Germany: Meet Rieke, the ABANDONED baby orangutan
Rieke, Berlin Zoo's newest baby orangutan made its first media appearance on Friday. Journalists were able to catch a glimpse of the pint-sized ape getting its diaper changed, weighed and bottle-fed.
Born on January 12, the three-week-old female is being reared by zookeepers after its 11-year-old mother Djasinga rejected her at birth.
When she is older, the ape will be relocated to Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre in Dorset, UK.
Before then, the public can see the ape being fed every Saturday around 1 p.m. local time (14:00 GMT).
