Russia: S-300 missiles hit simulated targets in super-quick time
Russia’s Baltic Fleet staged several anti-aircraft drills in the Kaliningrad Region of Russia on Monday, practising the deployment of S-300 missile systems.
Testing the combat readiness of troops, the crews were ordered to man the missile systems in full battle mode and fire on simulated enemy targets. The targets were subsequently destroyed in less than one minute after the missile systems electronically locked on to them.
The S-300 missile carries a warhead weighing between 150 and 180 kg (331 to 397 lbs), and can hit targets from 5 to 400 kilometres (3.1 to 249 miles) away.
