USA: SCHOOL'S OUT! Storm Juno BLIZZARD is fun for some
Hundreds of families gathered in Fort Greene Park in Brooklyn on Tuesday to enjoy some winter fun. Children took to their sleds and frolicked with their pets in the snow, celebrating citywide school cancellations following Storm Juno's landfall, Monday.
Storm Juno pounded locations from New York to New England and led officials in New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Rhode Island to declare a state of emergency as well as widespread travel bans. Snow depth in New York has ranged from 7.8 inches (19.8 centimeters) in New York City to more than 28 inches (71 centimeters) in Long Island.
Storm Juno will continue to make its impact through Tuesday with an expected accumulation of nearly 24 inches (61 centimeters) of snow, amid blizzard conditions expected in seven states across the east.
