Switzerland: Jack Ma is 'fully confident' about the future of online privacy
Executive Chairman and founder of Alibaba Group Jack Ma expressed his confidence about the future of online privacy in Davos on Friday, saying that younger generations will find solutions within the next 10 to 20 years.
Speaking at the 45th annual World Economic Forum (WEF), Ma compared the insecurity of disclosing personal data online today to the insecurity people used to have with banks, stating his belief that banks are now the most-trusted gatekeeper for finances.
Jack Ma founded the Business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce site Alibaba, which currently serves around 79 million across 240 countries, in 1999. The Alibaba Group is now a holding company with nine major subsidiaries. In 2014, the company raised a $25 billion (€22 billion) IPO: the largest IPO ever raised globally.
