China: Icy hot! Pole dancers bring the heat in MINUS 50 degrees
Footage released on Dec. 24 by the Chinese National Pole Dancing Team showed members practicing their skills in temperatures as low as -50 degrees Celsius (-58 degrees Fahrenheit) in Mohe County, Heilongjiang province.
The trio of female dancers braved arctic conditions in the area known as China's North Pole in the belief that it would improve their willpower. While it was not their first trip to the snowy training spot, performers claimed that the conditions were one of the coldest temperatures they had danced in.
In April 2015 Beijing will host the World Pole Dance Championships. The Chinese national team currently consists of 17 members, including six males. A qualification round will be held at the end of January in Tianjin to determine the world championship team.
