Germany: 'If Greece leaves EU, they'll be a partner' - Russia's Fyodorov
Russian Agriculture Minister Nikolai Fyodorov announced on Friday that Moscow will partner with Greece if they leave the EU, as they would no longer be subject to the import ban on agricultural products. The possibility of a Greek exit from the EU has raised following the rise of the left-wing party Syriza - who stand a high chance of winning the forthcoming elections.
Fyodorov also reassured journalists that his ministry was not consider extending the list of European food products which are subject to the import ban. According to him, no Russian governmental agency has passed such a proposal yet. However, Fyodorov stressed that Moscow may do that if Western states impose new sanctions.
Earlier on Friday, the Russian agriculture minister visited Green Week, the world's biggest agricultural fair. At the fair Fyodorov conducted talks with many of his European colleagues on ways of lifting restrictions measures imposed by the EU on Russia because of its position on the Ukrainian crisis.
