USA: See these adorable endangered penguins splashing around
Two endangered African penguins took part in a training session with staff at the San Diego Zoo on Tuesday morning.
The training session marked the beginning of a new relationship between staff and the penguins as San Diego Zoo develops its new seashore habitat and breeding centre for African penguins, part of a large expansion project called Conrad Prebys Africa Rocks.
The staff fed the penguins capelin and spent time in the enclosure with the aim of developing bonds and training the animals.
African penguins are one of the most endangered penguin species in the world. Between 2001 and 2009 researchers noticed a decline in population of 60 percent making projects like that of the San Diego Zoo critical in the recovery of the species.
