France: Watch Charlie Hebdo demonstrators climb 'The Triumph of the Republic'
Dozens of flag waving demonstrators climbed 'The Triumph of the Republic' statue in Paris's Place de la Nation on Sunday, during a rally in tribute to the victims of the Charlie Hebdo attacks. The crowd held aloft signs including “I am Charlie” and “Love is grand”, written in both French and Arabic. The gathering was the culmination of a march which ran along a three kilometre (1.8 miles) stretch from Place de la Republique to Place de la Nation.
The rally comes following three days of deadly attacks, which began after gunmen stormed the HQ of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris on Wednesday, leaving 12 people dead. A police woman was killed on Thursday and four people were shot dead in a kosher grocery store on Friday in connection with the attack.
