Singapore: Meet the world's first SMART turtle robot
Engineers at the National University of Singapore (NUS) showed off their biomimetic robotic turtle, Wednesday. The turtle robot was developed in order to perform complicated deep ocean missions such as underwater surveillance, harvesting energy or conducting ocean surveys.
Small and lightweight, the robotic turtle is highly manoeuvrable and energy efficient. According to the researchers, it can even be combined into swarms of small turtles which communicate with each other in order to perform tasks collaboratively.
