Russia: Ice sculptures of Orthodox icons glimmer and DAZZLE
Orthodox Christian icons glimmered in the sunlight of Yekaterinburg, as the Star of Bethlehem festival was graced by locals, Wednesday.
People from all over the country, as well as 10 international competitors including Ukraine, Latvia and Japan, gathered in front of the Church of All Saints to impress with their sculpting skills. The first place went to a team from Arkhangelsk for their sculpture 'The Joy of Victory,' which represents "joy of the 1945 victory of good over evil." The second place went to a team from Kemerovo and the Japanese team was voted third.
