USA: See next-gen WIRELESS charging technology
WiTricity, a company that specialises in wireless charging technology, flaunted its wares at 2015 International CES Las Vegas, Wednesday. The technology is based on strong coupling between electromagnetic resonant objects enabling home devices such as phones or electric cars to be charged wirelessly. The system consists of transmitters and receivers that contain magnetic loop antennas tuned to the same frequency.
One of the main benefits of the device, the company says, is that a single source can transfer energy to more than one device, even when the devices have different power requirements.
WiTricity hopes its wireless charging systems will be out in the market for the public to buy within the next 9-18 months.
