Germany: Thousands of PEGIDA protesters takeover Dresden
Thousands of PEGIDA (Patriotic Europeans against the Islamisation of the West) supporters gathered on the streets of Dresden on Monday as they took to the streets in opposition to the perceived 'Islamisation' of Germany.
Numerous police units were deployed in the area to observe the march and prevent possible clashes between the PEGIDA and Antifa activists although no trouble was reported.
The first protest organised by PEGIDA occurred in October. Since then the demonstrations have grown from a few hundred protesters to tens of thousands of people protesting nationwide.
