Sweden: Protesters rally against mosque attacks in Stockholm
Hundreds of people protested in Stockholm, Sweden on Friday against a series of attacks against the Muslim community in the country. The protest follows the latest attack which occurred on New Year's Day when a mosque was firebombed in Uppsala.
A reported 6,000 people from at least 40 different groups came out in Sweden's three largest cities, Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmo, to protest growing Islamophobia in the country.
The incident on New Year's Day marks the third attack on a mosque in a week after places of worship in Eskilstuna and Eslov were also targeted. At least 12 attacks against mosques took place across the country in 2014 according to Expo, a Swedish foundation working to raise awareness on racism and xenophobia.
