
Greece: See Norman Atlantic ferry SURVIVORS arrive at Greek port
Around 69 survivors from the Norman Atlantic ferry fire were reunited with loved ones after arriving safely at the Greek port of Igoumenitsa on Monday night. Medical teams were on standby to assist passengers before they were transferred to a local hotel.
The Greek maritime ministry said 268 of the passengers were Greek, with the crew made up of 22 Italians and 34 Greeks. The rest of the passengers included 54 Turks, 44 Italians, 22 Albanians, 18 Germans as well as Swiss, French, Russian, Austrian, British and Dutch nationals.
The evacuation of those on board is complete but the death toll now stands at ten. Captain Argilio Giacomazzi was the last off the ship more than 36 hours after he sent out a distress signal.
