Italy: Emergency services await ferry fire survivors
Emergency services awaited the survivors of the Norman Atlantic ferry fire in Bari, Monday, with the Italian Red Cross involved in the mission.
The Norman Atlantic ferry was transporting 411 passengers, 56 crew-members and 222 vehicles when it caught fire approximately 78 kilometres (48 miles) northwest of the Greek island of Corfu.
The first group of passengers that escaped the burning ship arrived at Bari at around 0630 GMT, after rough seas forced a change from the original plan to dock in Brindisi, 110km (68 miles) down the coast.
More than 200 passengers and crew remain stranded aboard the smoke-filled ferry between Italy and Albania.
