State of Palestine: Hundreds mourn Hamas fighter killed by Israeli forces

Hundreds of people mourned at the funeral of Tayseer Asmairi in the Gaza Strip, Wednesday. Asmaari, a member of the armed wing of Hamas, was killed in a firefight with Israeli forces who reported one casualty from the clash. The encounter reportedly occurred near the border which divides Israel from the Gaza Strip.

The clash is the latest in several violent incidents in recent weeks, since a 50-day conflict ended in Gaza in August. On Friday, Israeli fighter jets bombed a Hamas base in Gaza, in response to an alleged rocket-launch earlier that day from the territory.
