Russia: 'Govt, C. Bank taking correct measures to boost economy' - Putin
Russian President Vladimir Putin said the Central Bank and government are "acting adequately regarding the given situation" to resolve Russia's economic problems. He made the comments during his 10 annual major news press conference at Moscow's World Trade Centre, Thursday.
Putin said he thinks that the current economic situation "can get better earlier ... it can improve in the first or second quarter of next year or at the end of the year." This year's conference took place against the backdrop of a falling Ruble and tumbling price of oil - factors that have negatively impacted the Russian economy.
A total of 1,259 journalists from 18 countries have been accredited for the presser, among them reporters from Japan, the United States, Iran, Germany, France, Romania, Belarus, Sweden, Israel, China, Denmark, Spain, Abkhazia, Poland, Azerbaijan, Vietnam and the United Kingdom.
