
Switzerland: Police battle flames with water cannon
Police used water cannons to extinguish fire in the centre of Zurich after protesters set cars, trees and trash bins alight, Friday. Seven police officers were injured and four men have so far been arrested on suspicion of participating in the unrest.
Approximately 200 masked protesters armed with iron bars gathered around 10 pm on Friday in the centre, resulting in hundreds of thousands of euros worth of damage.
Zurich, Switzerland's largest city, is a major financial hub hosting numerous banking giants and is known as one of Europe's wealthiest cities.
