UK: Mass 'DIE IN' shuts down Westfield shopping centre
Hundreds of anti-police-brutality solidarity protesters stormed Westfield shopping centre in London on Wednesday night after being blocked by a line of police officers and security guards, prior to a die-in demonstration which protested a Grand Jury's decision December 4 to not indict police officer Daniel Pantaleo for Eric Garner's death. At least 76 people have been arrested.
The protesters, made up of members from groups including London Black Revs, London Campaign Against Police and State Violence, and the National Union of Students (NUS) Black Students' Campaign, also point to the almost 900 people killed in police custody since 1969 which have resulted in no convicted officers.
