Russia continues to "violate international law" and has changed the post-WWII European landscape, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said in Cologne, Tuesday.

Delivering a speech at the annual CDU party conference, the German leader accused Russia of "annexing" Crimea and treating neighbouring countries as "spheres of influence."

Over 900 members of the CDU took part in the conference, with an additional 300 guests and companies using the open forum to communicate and offer services.
