Mexico: 'Ayotzinapa enduring!' Demo demands return of missing students
Teachers from the National Co-ordinator of Education Workers (CNTE), along with members of the Popular Front Francisco Villa (FPFV) and others, marched from the Angel of Independence monument to the Monument to the Revolution in Mexico City on Saturday, demanding the safe return of 43 missing students and calling for Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto to resign.
Protesters marched holding signs and banners and were joined by a pre-Hispanic dancer. The protest came on the 100th anniversary of the forces of Francisco Villa (also known as Pancho Villa) and Emiliano Zapata entering Mexico City, during the Mexican Revolution.
Forty-three students from Ayotzinapa went missing on September 26 after being detained by police in Iguala, a city in the state of Guerrero. Thousands have protested since, calling for justice and the safe return of the missing students.
