Russia: Thirty years of Modern Talking celebrated by Russian Army Choir
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the band Modern Talking, the Russian Army Choir released a cover version of the duo's song 'Cheri Cheri Lady' in St. Petersburg Thursday.
The military choir also congratulated the German synthpop duo, who were popular in the Soviet Union during the 1980s, with a rendition of 'Happy Birthday'.
This is not the first time the Russian Army Choir has covered well known pop songs with a number of videos online showing the men performing renditions of tracks by pop stars ranging from Queen to Adele. They even performed a version of Daft Punk's hit Get Lucky at the opening ceremony of the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.
The choir says their mission is to break down the stereotypes surrounding military uniforms.
