Switzerland: UEFA prohibits Crimean teams from playing in Russian leagues

UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino announced that UEFA will be banning Crimean teams from playing in competitions organised by the Russian Football Union, during a press conference in Nyon, Thursday.

The ban was decided upon during a meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee and will come into effect from January 1. It will affect three Crimean teams; TSK Simferopol, SKChf Sevastopol and Zhemchuzhina Yalta.

UEFA have ensured funding for Crimea to allow for the continued development of football in the region.
