
Ukraine: Poroshenko discusses December 9 'silent regime' truce with officials
Speaking in Kiev, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and various heads of the country's security agencies discussed the measures necessary to ensure the implementation of a truce scheduled for December 9 between Kiev and anti-Kiev forces, Thursday.
Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and Chairman of Ukraine‘s Security Service (SBU) Valentyn Nalyvaychenko were in attendance, along with Chairman of the State Border Service Victor Nazarenko and Deputy Commander of the National Guard Nicholay Balan.
Participants at the meeting reported to Poroshenko on the current situation in East Ukraine, discussing appropriate responses in case the ceasefire agreement is violated.
