
Russia: "We support Damascus in countering terrorism" - Lukashevich
Moscow sees its task as one of assisting Damascus to counter terrorism, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Alexander Lukashevich said at his weekly briefing in Moscow on Tuesday.
Lukashevich said that the Russian Federation supports organising a dialogue that is "without any preconditions or external dictation" between the Syrian government and opposition on Russian territory. He also stressed the importance of the Syrian opposition accepting this proposal and the necessity of a wide range of anti-government forces to attend the talks.
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson was unable to disclose the exact date of the meeting.
