Turkey: Russia and Turkey agree to increase Blue Stream gas supplies
Gazprom will increase the gas supplied via the Blue Stream pipeline by three billion cubic metres, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a joint press conference with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara, Monday.
The 'Blue Stream' is a major trans-Black Sea gas pipeline that carries natural gas from Russia into Turkey. The amount of gas supplied by the pipeline originally was 16 billion cubic metres per year. After agreements Putin and Erdogan made in Ankara, the maximum discharge will increase to 19 billion cubic metres per year.
The press conference followed talks between Putin and Erdogan in Ankara aimed at boosting trade and strengthening relations between the two countries.
