USA: See Ferguson demo disrupt major US retailers
Around 200 protesters, opposed to a grand jury ruling to not indict white police officer Darren Wilson in the fatal shooting of unarmed African-American teenager Michael Brown, marched through shopping centres and blocked intersections Saturday in Clayton, Missouri, near St. Louis. Protesters marched through numerous businesses, including a Trader Joe's, Target, and a Bed Bath Beyond.
The protest came a day after several other demonstrations took place inside malls and shopping centres on Black Friday, traditionally the busiest shopping day of the year in the United States.
Racial tensions have remained high in Ferguson following the August 9 fatal shooting of Brown, and hundreds of people have been arrested in protests since the grand jury announced its decision not to indict Wilson on Monday. Brown was shot six times with two shots to his head, according to an autopsy. Eye-witness accounts say his hands were raised as he was killed.
