
Libya: Italy intercepts HUNDREDS of migrants en route to Europe
Footage released on Sunday shows over 200 migrants being found by the Italian coast guard while attempting to cross into Europe.
Travelling from the North of Africa via the Strait of Sicily, the migrants were picked up between Thursday and Friday. Caught aboard a raft close to Gregoretti CP920 supply vessel, the migrants were transferred to the ship and subsequently detained.
The Italian coast guard reports that they have picked up more than 520 migrants in a 48-hour period.
