France: Toulouse BURNS as anti-police brutality demo turns violent
A protest that drew 1,000 erupted in violence in Toulouse on Saturday with fires left burning on streets, and water cannon and tear gas deployed by police. At least 16 arrests were reportedly made in Toulouse.
Prompted by the death of activist, Remi Fraisse, 21, who was killed last month by a police grenade at an anti-government march, protesters were marching against police violence and government austerity.
Another 1,200 demonstrated in the western city of Nantes where 14 protesters were reportedly detained.
