China: 'Russian-Chinese relations developing on all levels' - Putin
Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping in Beijing, Sunday ahead of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit which starts Monday in the Chinese capital.
Putin said that Chinese-Russian relations are prospering on almost every level especially regarding military, economic and political ties. He also noted that a new gas deal is being implemented, adding that trade turnover between the two countries had increased seven percent for the first nine months this year in comparison to last year's 1.3 percent.
After the meeting, the two presidents signed a package of documents among which was a memorandum on gas shipments from Russia to China along the ‘western’ route; and a framework agreement between Gazprom and the Chinese National Petroleum Corporation for further gas shipments along the same route.
