Italy: Major flooding grinds Tuscany city to a halt
The Tuscan city of Carrara was hit by major flooding on Wednesday, when torrential rain caused the Carrione River to burst its banks. As water spread through the city, people were forced to wade through the flooded streets to safety while emergency services were called in to evacuate a number of families from their homes.
Reports there has been one fatality have been denied by Carrara's Deputy Mayor Andrea Vannucci.
