
Ukraine: Schoolboy in hospital after football pitch shelling
A teenager called Vitaly was treated at the regional trauma unit in Donetsk on Wednesday after a shell landed on a sports pitch near School no. 63 earlier in the afternoon. The blast in the Kuibyshevsky district caused two fatalities and four injuries, mainly from shrapnel wounds. The schoolchildren were reportedly playing a game of football when the bomb hit.
The school is located near the Sergey Prokofiev International Airport, which is currently the site of fierce fighting. The artillery barrage over the area reportedly continued as medics were called in to collect the victims.
