
Ukraine: Poroshenko lays flowers on Tomb of Unknown Soldier in Kiev
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko paid his respects at the Tomb of Unknown Soldier in Kiev on Tuesday, as part of a memorial ceremony marking the 70th anniversary of Ukraine's liberation from fascism in WW2.
Soldiers of the Honor Guard solemnly marched and saluted with rifle volleys. The ceremony was also attended by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Chairman of the Ukrainian parliament (Verkhovna Rada) Oleksandr Turchynov, members of the Cabinet of Ministers, MPs and WWII veterans.
