Germany: See German armed forces train for FIRST Ebola mission
The German Army was busy training volunteers at the Marseille barracks in Appen on Thursday, with the expectation they will be sent to the Liberian capital of Monrovia in order to build an Ebola treatment centre.
Those undergoing training are a mixture of soldiers, civilian employees of the Bundeswehr (Army) and German Red Cross employees. The primary aspects of the training include the dressing and undressing of protection suits; psychological preparation, and classes on the personal requirements needed for the mission. The completion of the training takes five days.
More than 100 volunteers have registered. The Bundeswehr will initially train four teams over the next month, with each unit being sent to Liberia for a total of five weeks.
